The proposed lands, adjacent to the tribe’s existing trust land and acquired over the years, will serve as the canvas for the envisioned event center and additional housing for tribal members. The tribal leadership has formally requested the federal government to place approximately 189 acres of land into trust, a move that would place it under the jurisdiction of the tribal government rather than county and state authorities.
